LOTS AND LOTS OR WORK
Wallpaper samples. This is hard. I would like to find something similar to what was originally in the living room.More wallpaper samples. I am leaning towards the very middle one.
Chad removing the lowered ceiling in the downstairs bedroom. They had lowered the ceiling for the duct work for the heat upstairs. We are thinking of having exposed venting. There is breadboard under that wallpaper and it is covered in lead paint.
Wallpaper in the downstairs bedroom.
Wallpaper in the pantry.
More wallpaper in the pantry.
Found these advertisements on the floor under the staircase.
Steaming off the wallpaper in the pantry. There is shiplap basically on every wall of this beautiful house.
This house is such a mystery. We think maybe this was part of a porch. The floor was painted green and the ceilings were very low.
This is me sticking my phone up the hole we made in the pantry ceiling to show how much space is up there and perhaps the kitchen was an add on to the original house. If only we knew the answers to all our questions.
Looking into the pantry from the kitchen.
Looking up the stairs. Paneling on top of wallpaper that was painted green. Not lead paint though.
Standing in the corner of the staircase looking up at the hallway upstairs. There is a hole in the wall there but who knows why.
Standing in Wren's room looking into my studio. Mike took most of the paneling and drywall. Now I have the bigger job of removing the wallpaper. Just not sure what I am going to do here. We may just drywall over but at least it will be cleaned up. It still smells pretty strong like dog/cat urine up here.
Another door discovered going into our upstairs bedroom.
The upstairs bathroom pretty much gutted. This window is aluminum and will go away. We have some old windows to replace this window with. The replacement window will be centered on the dormer.
This was where the bathtub was in the upstairs bathroom. We were planning on keeping the tub but it was all rusted around the drain so we will have to replace that. I plan on tiling with subway tiles all the way to the ceiling. Radiant floors with penny tiles on top.
Lots of rat poop under this bathroom floor. I can't imagine hearing rats running through your house.
Our upstairs bedroom. I went a little crazy on the drywall in the corner there. Chad was hoping not to replace that drywall but it has a weird texture and when we pulled the paneling off the other sections the glue pulled that paper off the drywall and I am not sure that can be repaired. The smoke stack is going to be covered with brick. When the fire is going you can feel the heat coming off this smoke stack. I don't know if that is a good thing.
Found in the bathroom walls.
